What a fantastic day we had at our event!

On Friday the 18th April 2025, we hosted our annual Bake-off and family fun day. It was held at Studio8 and was very well attended, exceeding all expectation.
The bake-off has humble roots, starting in our office where mostly staff and volunteers entered cakes. We have grown over the years, into a larger family day, with bouncy castles, bake sale, raffle, silent disco, Easter arts and egg trail and glitter tattoos.

The event is now so big, we can't fit in our office and are looking at needing an even bigger location next year!
The event is about bringing families together. We like to build a sense of community and belonging. Families get to have fun and there were lots of smiles evident on the day.

There was a lovely atmosphere

There's also a huge sense of achievement for those that enter the bake-off - particularly the winners!
It's a chance for the families to give something back MOP too, as we do some fundraising and it's really special to see them coming along to support us.
All of the events we host have the intention of meeting as many of of our aims as possible. We hope that by coming along, families will:
• have improved well-being.
• have improved self-esteem.
• have an increased sense of belonging
• have an increased sense of achievement.
• have more positive experiences.
• have improved resilience.
• be less isolated.
• be alleviated of poverty.
The amount available to do for the cost was great. Kids loved the bouncy castle and tattoos.

The team worked their socks off as it was much busier than anticipated. In 2024 we managed it with four staff members and six volunteers. This year we were very fortunate to be supported by colleagues from Sky and Amazon. Without their help, we would not have managed! They were an absolute credit to their teams and a wonderful help on the day.
Very local and easy to access for all.
The volunteers helped out at the door,
signing people in and stamping the hands
of the children. They handled the busy-ness

of the bouncy castle, they sold cakes and they supported the raffle. We are so grateful to Caroline, David, Gary, Morag and Magda from Sky, Shannon, Erin and Megan from Amazon and Janine, Kylie and Claire, as well as our younger helpers; Ellie, Kaila, Eliza and Catherine!
Our judges; Steffi from Leviton, Mags from Devine Cakes and Ailsa, who stepped in at the last minute, did a sterling job of sampling and judging 20 cakes. The cakes were all to a VERY high standard and competition was stiff. We were blown away by the number of cakes entered and the high standard of the entries. Well done to everyone that entered - You are all STAR BAKERS!

It's a great family day

We had an enormous raffle with amazing prizes that were generously donated to us from local businesses. We'd like to thank; Wonderworld Kirkcaldy, Callum's Childcare, Scottish Deer centre, Craigtoun Park, Jumpin' Jacks, Dunelm, Cluny Clays, Jo Jo Candles, Knockhill, Studio8 , Morrisons and B2B flooring for their wonderful support.

Plans are underway for next year already, so keep an eye on our socials and sign up to our newsletter:
