We had a brilliant day on the 1st of September, at our 2nd annual Rainbow Run Glenrothes!
There were smiles all round as people completed the course and also bought extra bags with which to shower each other!
"We laughed all the way round, such an enjoyable day with great atmosphere"
The weather held out and all you could hear were giggles and laughter, it definitely improved peoples mood and well-being.
Everyone smiling, laughing and having great fun! This made the day so much fun and everyone involved had a great time.
There were brilliant warm-ups led by our wonderful volunteers, Ginny and Cara which really built up the atmosphere and got people ready to go.
Families came together and all ages were involved, having fun, building their relationships, creating memories and having positive experiences.
There really was a sense of community and belonging across the whole park and around the hub.
The atmosphere of community was fantastic. Brilliant collaboration. Families and runners all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Members of the public were entertained but ensured to have access to the area so they were engaging happily too! Excellent use of recreational space, environmentally considered and promoting wellbeing. Very well done!
We're very grateful to all 23 of our wonderful volunteers for giving up their Sunday morning to support us, without their help we couldn't host events like this. Volunteers are the only reason we could hold the Rainbow Run Glenrothes and 'thanks' doesn't do justice to to how deeply we appreciate them.
There was a great sense of achievement when people completed the course and received their medals. The medals were handed out by the family of Fred Bird, whom the run was dedicated to, after his sudden passing. Fred was a staunch supporter of MOP, who loved his time volunteering last year and is very sadly missed.
The atmosphere was great, lots of fun for kids and adults, and such a worthy cause to raise money for.
Plans are in place to begin organising next years run - we hope to see you there!
