On Saturday 3rd May, members of the Muirhead Outreach Project team – Janine, Kylie, and Shannon – had the absolute pleasure of attending the Moorelands Charity Ladies Day and what an unforgettable day it was.
Held at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline, this much-loved annual event – established in 2014 by Marie Shevas MBE – once again brought together an incredible community of supporters, all united by a shared purpose: to raise funds and awareness for important causes.
From the moment the team arrived, there was a real sense of excitement and togetherness in the room. With around 300 attendees, the atmosphere was vibrant, full of energy and filled with people eager to make a difference while enjoying a fantastic day out.
A real highlight of the day for our team was the opportunity for Janine to take to the stage and share the work of Muirhead Outreach Project. Speaking to the room, Janine highlighted the vital support we provide to families across Fife, offering early intervention, connection and practical help during challenging times. It was a proud moment to showcase the impact of our work, and to see such a positive response from those in attendance. Opportunities like this are so important in raising awareness, building understanding and connecting with supporters who believe in what we do.
While the day was filled with laughter, music and celebration, there were also deeply moving moments that reminded everyone why the event is so important. Guests heard a powerful and emotional speech linked to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), one of the event’s chosen charities. The story highlighted the tragic loss of Finlay Rutherford, a young local person and the importance of heart screening for young people – a message that left a lasting impact on everyone in the room.

These poignant moments brought a sense of reflection and unity but they also strengthened the determination of everyone present to come together and make a difference.
Alongside these emotional reflections, the day was full of joy and celebration. The entertainment was fantastic, the company was wonderful and the dancefloor was busy all evening as everyone came together to enjoy themselves and support such meaningful causes. The MOP team had an amazing time – they were absolutely thrilled to be part of such a special event and to share in the energy and generosity of the day.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of the organisers, sponsors, and attendees, a phenomenal £38,000 was raised – a truly inspiring total, especially in challenging times for many families.
We are also incredibly grateful and delighted to share that £5,000 from the event will be generously donated towards Muirhead Outreach Project’s Sensory Room. This contribution will play a vital role in helping us create a safe, calming and nurturing environment for children and families who need it most. We cannot thank the Moorelands Charity Ladies Day team enough for their kindness, support, and belief in our work.

It was truly a day that captured the very best of community spirit – balancing moments of reflection with celebration and compassion with joy. Events like this remind us of the power of people coming together to support one another and create real, lasting impact.
A heartfelt thank you to the organisers, sponsors and everyone who attended and contributed. The MOP team feel incredibly lucky to have been part of such a meaningful and memorable day.
